When I first came across Sistah Space, I knew I wanted to get involved beyond donating. I reached out, and what I heard back was simple: what we really need is people. Our support service is almost fully volunteer-run, and small chunks of time from the right people make a huge difference to the women we work with.

That's how I ended up as Head of Communications. Every week I help send emails like this one, write web copy, and put out social media posts to make sure the work Sistah Space is doing reaches the people who need to see it.

Along the way I've met some incredible people, grown my CV, and given back to my community in a way that actually feels meaningful.

If you have a skill, a business, or a network you could bring to Sistah Space, here's where to start:

Volunteer with us. Even a few hours a month makes a real difference. Whether you can help in the shop, on campaigns, with writing or design, or sitting with service users, there's space for you.

Partner with us. If you run a business, a community group, or a workplace, we'd love to talk. Product donations, event hosting, employer matching — partnerships are one of the strongest ways we reach more women.

Share our work. Genuinely, this one matters. Every time you share a post, forward an email, or tell someone about Sistah Space, you're helping a woman find us who might not have otherwise. It costs nothing and it changes lives.
